  2. Since my due date is the 12th of Feb., my husband and I celebrated with a dinner date this last Friday. But I told him there still needs to be a little surprise on the actual V's day. So hopefully, on Valentine's Day, this year I will be holding a new born baby boy!!

  3. My husband and I are taking the kids to his parents house and then going to dinner and a movie. Our Valentine Phantom will leave goodies on the door step for our children too. Its a day we are all looking forward too.

  4. wow--i'd love either of those. I also need the ideas for v-day. I'm making cookies for my kids to decorate, leaving them treasures in the mailboxes and not sure what to do with/for my husband. We are not spending money this month...any ideas for that?

  5. This Valentines Day we're not doing much more than a nice dinner (which I'm hoping my husband will make...we'll see!). Reason? I am going to Miami in March with my husband! Woohoo!

  6. My husband is in law school so the budget is tight. So this year we decided we would dress up and stay in! We will make a nice dinner and dessert( You know candles, china, etc.). Then dance to a mix of our favorite love songs. I'm so excited, it will be great.
P.S. I am starting a blog that is for cheap date ideas. My husband and I have a goal to have a date night every weekend, but we only have a $60.00 budget for the whole year.

  10. I don't know for sure. I know we will be delivering some goodies to teachers and maybe trying a new cookie recipe. I'm trying to leave the romantic stuff up to the hubby but that may backfire right into my face!

  11. Valentine's day is also my husbands birthday, so we are celebrating at a cabin with his family!!

  13. Every year, I make a Surf and Turf dinner, late, after the kids go to bed. We light candles, sip sparkling cider and eat the yummy food. We used to go out, but the restaurants were so busy and we hated having to pay for a sitter.

  14. Well I know this sounds weird but every year since we started dating we have gone to Borros for V-day! Neither of us are the romantic type and we love pizza and NO one is ever there.. so we love it! This year we are going to Ashlyns Jr. Miss pageant.. but we will probably get Pizza before.. and we usually watch a chick flick sometime at night to!!

  15. Yippeee, a give away! For Valentines we have a week full of celebrating. At some point, we'll probably cut out and decorate paper hearts, decorate sugar cookies at our house with Dad, decorate sugar cookies with our apt. complex, play games and do v-day stuff at play-group, and celebrate with cousins (we'll be going to Rochester for the weekend). On the actual day, my hubby and I will probably go see a movie and get some very romantic dessert, called ice cream, from the grocery store!

  16. Wow - a lot of you are so creative! Like many, we're on a pretty tight budget AND my brother-in-law will be in town this weekend, so we won't be doing much. I am hoping to receive some kind of surprise from my husband and I plan on making him something yummy (maybe choc chip cookies-his favorite) and a card. And Lucas' class does a Valentine's Exchange, so I'll be sending something to his class for that.

  17. I'm so excited that I actually thought of a fun surprise for my husband. He is always so good and I can be a dud. We have a favorite waffle that we have had at hotels when traveling, so I was able to find a similar waffle iron and ordered the waffle mix online. It will be fun to surprise him that morning for breakfast seeing as he is the one usually making breakfast on weekends (he's a pro). Although I don't keep secrets very well and will have to try really hard to NOT spill the beans before Saturday!
