Tell me what you think?

Ok, so I had my 20 week Ultrasound last week. I talked with the Doctor today and found out that because of the measurements of the baby they have moved my due date back 3 weeks. So instead of April 18th it is now May 5th. I not very excited about this. Am I just being silly? I will go back to the Doctor in about 2 weeks and then in about 4 weeks have another 21-23 week Ultrasound. I don't know why this is such a big deal to me, but I am really bummed out. Please give me some input!! Thanks all!

3 weeks???? That doesn't even make sense to me... when you miss your period don't they usually say you've been pregnant for about 2 weeks? So this would imply when you discovered you were pregnant you still had a week to go before you even conceived..? Are they just basing everything off of the baby's size?
Well that would bum me out too! Even a few days would be annoying but 3 weeks.. to a pregnant girl that is a long time! I'm sorry! :(

I can definately see why you are frustrated, that is a little weird. But, like Cassi said, if they are only basing the due date off of measurments, that won't really mean anything. A baby can be born any size, at any week in a pregnancy. If they do another ultrasound in a month or so, hopefully they will have better news to tell you.

my 2nd and 3rd pregnancy due dates were moved back a few weeks because i have longer cycles than the little pregnancy due date calculation accounts for - i'd much rather find out the baby is going to be later than anticipated NOW that end up waiting longer at the end :) but it is definitely the LAST thing any pregnant woman wants to hear!

I'm sorry! For someone who has been overdue twice, any time I had past the date I originally got in my head seemed like an eternity. Did William measure small? I really don't know much about how they figure a due date from the ultrasound, but it seems like 3 weeks is a lot to change a due date by! Hopefully they'll get things ironed out the next time, but definitely hang in there. I guess we might just have to wait a little longer to get an appearance from the newest Gaulke! Good luck...
