Husband Help

I am stumped. My husband is having a birthday soon and I have no idea what to get him. Why are men so hard to shop for? Every year when I ask him what he wants he always tell me the necessities...socks, collared shirts, etc. We are still on a student budget so I can't do anything extravagant...like 2 round trip tickets to Italy. He'd like that right? I need help. Any suggestions? How do you shop for men?

Good question! Brian and both our dads are the same way! I NEVER know what to get them! If there isn't anything specific that I know Brian wants I usually end up getting a movie or a book. There are a lot of good church books out there! Or a fun game.
Maybe you could do something Florida themed? Or graduation themed? Although I'm guessing you're probably getting him a graduation gift too!?
Let's have this be the tricks of the trade question! I was having a hard time coming up with a good one anyway! :)

How about a surprise party? I had one for Jason a few years ago and he loved it! Especially since y'all are leaving soon....it will give him some last memories of MN!

I'm in the same situation, our anniversary is coming up, and I'm stumped with what I could get Scott. I like Cassi's idea of a theme, graduation or Florida. Florida would be a FUN theme! Sunglasses, a new hat, snorkel gear :), flip flops... you could gets lots of fun stuff for that!

Presents for boys are hard! Whenever I'm in a bind, my exercise-junkie husband loves work-out stuff. But, there's a really fun book that has tons of interesting "boy" stuff (paper airplanes, Morse code, etc.) that has been a hit with the men in our family - it's called the "Dangerous Book for Boys." Good luck!

I was just thinking of this topic since my hubby is turning 30 this year! Yikes! Ha ha ha! I was thinking tickets to a sports game. He loves that.

I have the hardest time with this as well. You'd think that spending so much time with a person would help, but it doesn't. Since I know of my problem with this, I try to pay careful attention to what he talks about throughout the year. If I hear of something good, I'll write it down somewhere and keep a log of what I find out through regular conversation with him. This might sound crazy, but it has helped me a ton. It might be too late to do that for this year, but for future bdays, Christmas, etc it is very helpful!
If all else fails, make him his favorite dinner and give him a homemade coupon book with things like 20 minute massage, or you'll do the dishes when it's his turn, or different things like that. You don't always have to spend lots of money! (at least I tell myself that, since we have very little at this time! :)
