This is a yummy desert recipe given to me by a friend who was in the New Brighton Ward way back when. Anyone remember Lisa Ricks? It uses a Trifle bowl but since I don't own one, I improvise with a large glass bowl. Perfect for a summer evening get together.
8 oz cream cheese
1 1/2 C. confectioners sugar
12 oz. Cool Whip
1 tsp vanilla
1 Angel food cake
1 quart sliced strawberries
2 pkg strawberry glaze (usually in produce section)
Mix cream cheese and sugar until creamy. Add Cool Whip and vanilla. Set aside.
Tear cake into pieces and set aside.
Mix strawberries and glaze together. Set aside.
Put a layer of cake pieces in the bottom of the bowl. Follow with a layer of the Cool whip mixture. Then add a layer of the strawberries. Make sure each layer is completely covered. Continue layering. Make cool whip mixture be the top layer. Garnish with some of the strawberry slices.
Keep in the refrigerator. Kids love this!
